Sunset Graves – Your Ghost Is Formed

Sunset Graves - Your Ghost is Formed

I am very happy to announce that I have started working with the wonderful Sunset Graves as he prepares to release his new album. You may be familiar with the name, his last release ‘Variant’ got some good attention.

He has just shared his brand new single ‘Your Ghost Is Formed’ which you can listen to here –

The first single from the release, ‘Your Ghost Is Formed’, will be available to buy digitally and on limited edition 7” clear vinyl on May 19th. The single release will also include an exclusive non-album track called ‘Turquoise’.

‘Your Ghost Is Formed’ is the release to follow Sunset Graves debut album ‘Variant’. A risky first release in terms of introducing his sound, ‘Variant’ spans a wide variety of genres from track to track with the likes of post-rock, ambient electronic and trip-hop all on offer. The release received descriptions of “morbidly playful”, “cinematic” and “meticulously planned melodies” amongst its reviews and overall seemed to really excite its listeners.

Moving on to what the new stuff has to offer. When writing the new material, Sunset Graves aka Andy Fosberry, had the likes of The Haxan Cloak, Palms, Burial and Boards Of Canada filling his ears. The music is heading to a more electronic place with more samples, less vocals and more emotion, all recorded with a much darker tone. But that’s just to the tip of it! He doesn’t want to give much more away.

The ‘Your Ghost Is Formed’ single is available to pre-order on vinyl here and more news on the forthcoming album will be coming very soon.

Jack Flash LIVE Ont’ Sofa – Out Now

Buy on iTunes here

The first in a series of ‘LIVE Ont’ Sofa’ releases this year, the Harrogate born online music channel release ‘Jack Flash LIVE Ont’ Sofa’ today via Ont’ Sofa Records.

Recorded at a pop up gig at Verve bar in the rapper’s hometown of Huddersfield, the EP boasts four tracks taken live from the show.

‘LIVE Ont’ Sofa’ is an idea that was born from the channel wanting to showcase new talent from all across the UK in a live setting. Ben Davis and Jason Odle, the Ont’ Sofa duo, travel the UK setting up pop up gigs in not-so-typical venues, recording the whole performance, creating a live record and getting it out there for all to hear. The label’s first release caused some unexpected attention from team X-Factor last year when they were asked to remove the ‘Luke Friend LIVE Ont’ Sofa EP’ following Luke’s appearance on the show.

The Jack Flash collaboration came together when Ont’ Sofa booked him to record a session for their YouTube channel. “We saw the potential in Jack straight away and really enjoyed his love for what he does. We spoke about working together on something special and this came about.”   Ont’ Sofa’s plan is to release a string of records throughout the year from a variety of emerging talent.

Testing The Water from Manchester’s Blizzard is out now and available to buy digitally. The E.P. was released on March 30th via Blizzards own Eight in Brackets label and reached number 1 in the iTunes hip hop chart within 12 hours.  Blizzard has also shared the video for ‘Kids Of The Night’ from the release.

Following the 19 year olds last release ‘Sooner Than Never’ going to number 1 in the hip hop charts Blizzard had his own personal expectations “The pressure was definitely on and I’ve put so much work into this record. I really hoped that people received it as well as they did with Sooner Than Never. It’s really humbling that they have”

In addition to topping the hip hop charts, the EP has reached number 35 in the album charts and received kudos from Mobo, MTV, SBTV, RWD, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Hit The Floor Magazine and I Luv Live, to name but a few.

Bradley ‘Blizzard’ Green started his journey in music at the age of 11 after winning an EA competition that saw him record a professionally edited video. The track charted at number one on music television platform Channel U and gained him underground recognition but it was his rap battling skills on the Don’t Flop scene a few years later which shot him to attention. The buzz around the multitalented musician continues to grow and the ‘Testing The Water’ E.P. is another example of Blizzards abilities.
